LYNC Model Of Care
What is the LYNC Model of Care?
The LYNC Model of Care is a specific application of trauma-informed care designed to enact positive change leading individuals towards empowerment. Safety and trust pave the way for self-determination, and through choice, individuals begin to see how they are in control.
Natural consequences are emphasized to illustrate the cause and effect of one’s actions or choices. Unconditional positive regard reinforces that individuals can learn from their mistakes without feeling defensiveness, shame or guilt. When we understand that the instinctive response to protect our autonomy is no longer needed, we can begin to truly collaborate. Collaboration equips us to strive for positive change, which in turn builds our confidence over time. An increasingly positive self-narrative strengthens against adversity. Overcoming adversity further establishes our self-belief, leading to a sense of empowerment.
